I think a lot of people hate rap and black people simply because they are close-minded. People in this nation always try to find some way to put down and stereotype others. So many people have their noses in the air and try to act better than others when in reality they are scared and confused. There are too many unfair generalizations. When someone likes rap music (which IS music and talented poetry), they automatically associate it with a life of crime. Many of the world's most intelligent people listen to rap music. I hope that world hasn't become so shallow that they begin to judge you by the music you listen to. OK, then, what if I said people who listen to Britney Spears or some other skimpy-dressed, trashy white girl was automatically a candidate for Girls Gone Wild? That would be a very stupid assumption for me to make. I'm a successful Black woman and I listen to all types of music - even rap. It makes no one any less of a person than the next individual....

Now, I LOVE black people because I am black - just like I have love for any other race.

I am not into rap music but my other half is, so I kinda tolerate it. I just think they dont have use so much swearing, some of the content is pretty offensive. Each to their own I say. As for hating Black people, well no matter where you go there will always be ignorance in some form or other. There is nice people out there, you just have to find them.

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

You are mentioning two separate things. There are people that love both and hate one and not the other.

As far as blacks are concerned, I think people think out of their experiences. I have lived in three very different communities and the motivations for racism was different in each one. However, I found that the racism was shared by every race, not just racism towards blacks, but blacks who were racist towards whites, and even Africans who hated the African-Americans.

As far as rap music is concerned, some people don't consider it music because it usually doesn't have a melody line, which make some argue that it isn't music at all. Remember the two black guys on the movie Crash where one liked rap and the other one liked country? Need I say more.

Peace dude.

I think it's the fact that it's so different than what a lot of people are used to. I grew up listening to music in the late 70's and 80's. Some of the messege that's in rap songs that I like are in pretty bad taste. I might like the rappers voice and the beat but not what he is saying. People who hate, hate what they don't understand or agree with first and then make excuses as to why they hate. Hate is wrong.

this is my opinion, and i am not responsible for all other white folk. rap music sounds the same. if you have a word that rhymes then you cut a record. it is not like the classic music that i grew up listening to. i might come around to loving rap, i hope not. as far as black people...i don't hate the color black or the skin color black. i do hate the fact that black people that are racist accuse all white people of being racist. how can i help you realize that all white people are not racist??? do you live in a bubble?

Why is it that they hate period? Mostly out of ignorance and stupidity. I am an older woman and I must say Rap and I aren't the best of friends but that is my right to have my opinion about some music. Black people being hated? Now that gets my dander up....We are all humans in this world. Makes no mind who came from where or from who...We are God's children and should act accordinly. Maye the haters are really JEALOUS?

I don't hate black people. I don't care for rap music because it doesn't seem like "music" to me. They are just talking the words not singing them.

Its an ugly word call racism. I know of people who refuse to watch any sport other than hockey because black people are more prominent on the teams. So Im sure some people dislike rap music because its mostly blacks performing it. I dont like gangsta rap but I like hip hop rap. Peace out......

I don't know if it's a lot, but some people hate black people because they're racist and ignorant. Chances are, they don't even know a black person.

Here's a good story for you about someone hating black people. Years ago, a friend of my husband kept using the "N word". I called him on it and asked the guy if he even knew anybody black. (We lived in rural Oregon and there wasn't a black person in the county.) He said he did...get this.... he'd been in the state pen for shooting a man and the black guys he'd met in prison had been bad people. LMAO!!!!!!!

Why do people hate rap? Because they don't understand it or they fear it. People often hate because they fear.

I don't like rap, but that's because it doesn't speak to me. I believe that different types of music speak to different people. Something just clicks and you understand it. It says things in a better way than you could yourself. That's nothing against rap; most classical music doesn't speak to me, either. I'm the result of the area, place, and how I was raised. Old blues, R&B, and county music speaks to me. Aretha singing Respect speaks for me. Old country songs about women having a hard time speak for me because they're talking about my life. I'd be a phony if I said rap spoke for me, but maybe it does for my grandaughters.
