I've been with my boyfriend for about a year and half and things have been amazing for most of that time. He's the sweetest, most thoughtful,caring,lovable,affe... and protective guy I know.He treats me like a queen. He was also physically and emotionally abused as a child by his dad. He's never shown any abusive traits whatsoever and would pretty much die before he'd ever lay a hand on me.

Last Friday we went clubbing and some guy started flirting with me.Out of no where my boyfriend showed up and decked him.I though he was just acting jealous and got incredibly pissed off at him. When we got back to my place he was trying to explain to me that he saw the guy spike my drink, the same guy that was trying to flirt with me but I wouldn't let him.I accused him of being just like his dad and that just about killed him. He's never told anyone about the abuse but me.He told me why he did it,walked out and hasn't spoken to me since. What can I do to fix this?Have I done the unforgiveable?

You did a pretty darn bad thing and you should be completely ashamed. Poor guy, he was protecting you from a rapist and you beat him down with a stick. He trusted you with a very personal secret that gives him hard feelings, and you went and used it against him like a bazooka in your selfish anger. Unforgivable!!! If he does forgive you, he's a truly good man you don't deserve having.

He should move on and find another girl with some sense and compassion and not as selfish and oblivious as you. The man deserves someone who is mature and caring, and sensitive as he is, and as protective. You did him in emotionally saying what you said, and I don't blame him one bit not speaking to you since then, so it's best you give him his space and not try and 'mend' something you don't have the mind preventing yourself from causing. If he speaks to you again, you'd better be damned apologetic in all the right ways or you won't be getting him back the same way, and he'll always distrust you with his feelins and his past. You Bad Girl!

Well honey, he must be wondering why he ever bothered wasting his affections on you.

You have some work to do if you want to keep him in your talons. You can try your lame explanations and if that doesn't work, try a BJ. (Always works on me.... but then I am often a shallow being). But if he has taken you to this nightclub what are you doing fluttering your eyes at some jerk with a pocket full of poppers? He has to be asking himself the same question.

Tell him that you know you were wrong and stepped way out of line and that he is def. not like his dad. He's might be secretly hiding the fact that him turning out like his dad is his worst fear and you did use that against him. Just because he hit the guy doesn't mean he's mean, he's just protective and that's what guys do.

If he decked a guy for spiking your drink, this is above and beyond what most guys would do, I for one, admire him for trying to proctect you

I think you stepped out of line, hopefully he will forgive you

Reminds me of a Kenny Rogers song, "Coward of the County"

It's his fault. He did get it from his dad and he's scared because you affirmed his own beliefs. For the most part, he's good, but still obviously has those tendencies. Apologize but don't take the blame for what he did, only what you said.
