Hi I am 31 weeks pregnant, and just recently, off and on, have been having unbearable back pain. Its on one side, the right side, of my back. I cant sit, lay, walk, or anything for relief. I called my doctor, and I was told the baby is just laying on some nerve. Has anyone had this? And it hurts that bad? But it comes and goes, so does she just move on it every now and then? Because its not constant just a few hours every couple days. And what can I do to move her off of it?

i had this with both my boys. try cat curls (on all fours and pull your back up) and hip presses(all fours and have someone apply pressure to the outer protions of your hips) it spreads your hips and makes a little room for the baby to drop and move off your nerve. I think my husband did this for me from the time i was 6mths till i delivered almost everyday. hope it helps. all so try pillows under your belly and between your knees when you lye on your side. Good luck

I had that with my son, it's called sciatica. It's where you have pressure on the sciatic nerve at the base of the spine and shooting pains down one side. There is not much you can do for it unfortunately and it could get worse as your baby grows. I put hot water bottles on my back and tried to keep moving. I found when I sat for too long I could not get back up! Good Luck.

You're supposed to either have someone rub your back with a tennis ball or lay on one..(the small of your back)Not sure why, but it works..I wanna say it's the syatic nerve..OUCH..I've had 4 girls so I feel for you!

I have been having them for a while now and I am 20 weeks. Im glad you asked that question because I was wondering it myself. thank you. It sounds like it is pretty normal, a pain for a few seconds and then it goes away. I have them atleast a few times a week,

I totally agree with the first answer. I had that really bad and the only relief I got was to get on all fours and just arch and curl my back and let my belly just hang freely. It really did help, especially when it woke me in the middle of the night. Good luck and congrats!!

I got sciatic pain realy bad with this last baby. The best thing to do is to get down on all fours and stretch out your back, that normally helps me.
