simple pull it out and install a 350 they are the same engine less the bore. 350 have a 4" bore a 305 has a 3.78 bore heads will fit but you will need a gasket set for the 350 not 305 . what i'm saying you can get a ready to install 350 for less money than boring your 305 clarification here just the short block .

It is better for you to take the engine to a shop and have them bore it for you. Boring the engine bigger will not give you much horsepower by putting bigger piston. If you really want some H/P, go with a 350. It will fit in the Camaro and no one will know the difference.

your throwing money down the toilet if you do anything to get more performance out of a 305. 350 is the way to go.

Take it to a trusted mechanic that does engine work and have them do it. If you have to ask how to do it at a place like this, you probably shouldn't be doing it...

take it to a shop that does engine work, then tell them that you want to bore it. they will ask you how much and then if you dont know what they are talking about just ask them and they will help you figure it out and tell you how much its going to cost.
