Well, some say you can. The process in which you block you emotions and past experiences is called "repression." But personally, I believe that emotions or things that affect you a great deal cannot get rid of, that is, until you forget them.

Don't get rid of them, just don't let them control you. If an emotion is causing problems in your life, it is controlling you. You need to use your emotions instead to your advantage, to help you decide whether or not a situation is something you want to experience or not. When our emotions are controlling us, we tend to not be able to make wise decisions, because too many emotions are involved, and they can hinder us from seeing the reality of certain situations, and what would be in the best interest for us. Instead learn to control them, and use them for no other reason than to help you enjoy the pleasures of life.

I would hope not. I wouldnt want to do away with emotions because it enables me to handle the complexities of life, good and bad. You know? Life seems to be a rollercoaster of sorts. You have your ups and downs. And your emotions help you sort through these things. Life for me seems to be a learning process. And part of that process is learning how to cope with stressors and also the good things in life. And you need your emotions in this way. Have a good day

Wouldn't the world be so much easier to deal with sometimes if we could? Having emotions is one of the things that separates us from the animals, its part of being human.Unless you have something psychologically wrong with you, where you are devoid of emotion(such as a psychopath),you are doomed to have them. Look at it this way,though-without emotions you could be spared the weight of sadness, anger, despair, depression, loneliness, etc.,but you would also never get to experience the wonderment of joy, love, affection,or bond with other people.

No, with a little luck, and a whole lot of practice, the best you can hope for is to control them, and not have them control you.
