I am interested in the physical part of geography, how it relates to the earth (though NOT geology), but not the human side. I am also interested in helping the environment, and partly in climate as well. Should I be looking at studying geography or earth sciences?

if you dont like geology dont do earth science as geology is the one of the fundementals of earth science.
you can study just physical geography (at uk uni's) which involve environment and climate if you pick the right course and will not have to do much (if any) human geography.
youll prob do a little geology involved with that as its fundemental to what happens on the surfaced but will not be at the level of earth science.
but anyway, whats wrong with geology?
hope this helps

The school where I attended has a Department of Earth Sciences containing Geology and Geophysics. Geography can be used as a minor, but not as a major. Other colleges may be different, I don't know. If you are good in science and math you should get a Bachelors of Science Degree in Geology and minor in Geography. If not, then you can get a Bachelors of Arts in Geology and minor in Geography.

Yes.
Only kind of kidding. Either geography or earth sciences would fill the bill, and it might depend on the particular emphasis of the departments in the schools you choose. Check out their course catalogues and graduation requirements to see which departments offer the courses most interesting to you. In all probability, you will be allowed to get credit for certain courses in both categories, since these are really overlapping fields.

I am geologist.
Dont study earth sciences if you dont like geology. It is like studying litterature if you dont like to read.
If I were you, I will study environemental sciences or oceanography.
