There are people who shop at thrift stores who have amazing style and people who shop at the most expensive stores with no style. Some people just know how to put material together to make it look 'better and more expensive' than it actually is. If you can afford expensive clothes and you like them then buy more expensive. Otherwise, go for cheaper but use some smarts about you. I've seen pictures of celebrities and their kids out for the day and I swear it doesn't look like they spent more than 2 cents of their entire outfit (although I'm sure it costs a hell of a lot). The problem with some people is they can't afford to buy certain clothes but they think 'I have to have it' and so they max out their credit cards and get into debt. Dress in what makes you happy and what you can afford. Style it up if you can.

No, but if you can afford not to, don't shop at Walmart. I saw a documentary all about how Walmart contributes to the slave wages and poor working conditions in other countries by using their labor for dirt-*** cheap and then marking up the product by some crazy-insane percent. That's why they can sell their stuff for so cheap. It was really sad. Otherwise, who cares where you buy your clothes? Most people can't tell the difference and would believe you if you told them you got that cute top (from Target) at Bloomingdale's! I mean, who would ask anyway? If they really even care, they're shallow!

I don't buy my stuff at any of those stores just because i don't like the clothes there (we only have zellers and sears). IT DOESN'T MATTER where you SHOP!!! just as long as BRANDS are not a huge deal. Those people who think that expensive clothes always look better, they're wrong!!!! you can look good or even better with cheap clothes. Who else would know where you get your stuff? friends? if you pull your outfit off, who would think you got your stuff from there? it's so random that people would ask what brand you're wearing. as long as your outfit matches, you're doing great!
When i shop sometimes, I'd be like I wouldn't want to wear this, looks so crappy! then later i see people wearing it and i'd be like huh! i thought it was crappy but i was wrong.
There was a girl that went to my school a year ago, and she looked really good in her outfit, just jeans and some top, and i asked her whered she get it, she said from zellers. and i thought they have good stuff there?
there's another that goes to my school, shes in grader 12 and shes rich and she can afford expensive clothes, so she shops at bootlegger all the time. She tries so hard that she looks hideous with her outfit most of the time, just because she doesn't know what goes with what.
*if they ask where you get our clothes? thats because they like what you're wearing!!!!

You should never worry about where you buy your clothes, all that matters is that you love them and that they look good on you. When I shop I look for something that fits my style and makes me stand out, I like to have a unique look. When you buy from those "brand" stores you look just like everyone else. I like having my style and it does matter whether it comes from a department store, a thrift store, or even a "brand" store, as long as I love it and it fits my style not the stores style.
and trust me you can find cute things in department stores. My most commented shoes came from Dillard's (and I only spent 12 dollars on them) and my most commented skirt came from a thrift store.
Just create a style that is yours and be confidant in it.

I guess it depends where you live and what you do for a living, but I buy my clothes at dept stores (and sometimes even at Costco) and I get decent compliments on them.
I suppose if I worked or lived somewhere that was very fashion forward and wealthy, I would probably be a laughing stock :)

If you are comfortable and like the clothes and the way they look on you, who cares where you got them?
Buy and wear what you like from wherever you like. It really doesn't make a difference.
People like to drop names and think they are better than you if they wear designer brands, but that's not really true. That stuff isn't really important.

Nothing wrong unless you think name brands are big deals. Whatever looks good, is good. Really just depends on whether brand names are important to you or not.
