Supposedly, she went to see a taping of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" with tickets that also entitled her to see a dress rehersal of American Idol.
At the dress rehersal, she was so emotional that the producers porposely invited her to see the taping & sit near the front (so the cameras could find her).
Her name is Ashley and she's 13.

My hubby and I were CRACKING up when they kept showing her during Sanjaya's performance!!! She looked like she was crying because it was so horrible! Like Simon, I seriously couldn't tell if she was happy or sad! That's a girl that needs to get away from the TV and celebrity scene for a bit and get back to real life!!

She was just a fan, named "Ashley" who had a school-girl crush on the dude that can't sing. And he proved it again tonight with a Kinks hit. That is all who she was. A fan.

I have no idea.... but the way they kept showing her during Sanjaya's performance- I think it was the camera man's way of screaming "GET THIS GAY FREAK OFF OF THE SHOW!"... But yes- that girl (I'm not for certain) had some issues.

she's a nobody...she started crying because Sanjaya touched her...then she cried some more...then some more...so they pulled her up on the stage so we could watch her cry one last time. I've been a whiner for 20 years & I've never been on tv. :(

It was a bit weird I've heard of people crying tears of joy, but she was sobbing so....yeah a little wierd

IDK!!!!!..but i think that was just to make sanjaya look good .. man if i was that little girl i wouldnt be crying cause i liked him!..ID BE CRYING CAUSE he HURT MY EARS!!!...shame on that lil girl:P..lol
