If you call HUD they can mail you a booklet that has all of the apartment complexes in your state that are based on your income. If you have no income you will have no rent. If you are wanting to go to college, you can pick the college you want to attend and apply for financial aid. They have a department for this and they will help walk you through it. If you choose not to live in low income housing...(most of which are pretty unsafe, gangs, etc...) they will give you an option at the financial aid office whether you want to take out loans. Its not based on your credit and you don't need to start repaying them back until 6 months after you graduate or leave school. The loans will pay for your housing and other expenses and as long as you keep your GPA up they will be available to you every semester. Just make sure that you choose a degree in which you will have enough income to start repaying the loans after you graduate. Nursing is an excellent option for you. Its a two year degree... Rn's are in high demand and you will be able to support yourself and your baby with no problems. Good Luck to you and ignore the people that are negative on here.

You are going to have quite a bit to do but you will be fine. First go to your local health department so they will help you with seeing a good ob/gyn and getting prenatal vitamins for you and your child. You will probably qualify for WIC which give you nutritious food while you are pregnant and then will help with formula, juice and baby cereal. Go to the Department of Family Services and apply for medicaid or Peach Care for kids. They can direct you to your county housing authority to begin the application process for an apartment. Depending on your need and the apartments available it could happen quickly or you may have to wait a while for a vacancy. Most places want a criminal background check so it would save you time in the long run to get one at the local county sheriffs department. Also get references if possible. If you are in college or plan to apply see the financial ad visor and apply for the appropriate grants that are available. DFACs also will help you get on your feet so you will be able to care for your child. There are many programs that offer child care, help with paying for transportation to school and for books and uniforms. I hope this helps you, and good luck to you and your baby.

It depends on where you live. Different states have different funding for all of that. Trust me I know, being a single mom myself I have tried to apply for everything possible. so there are Section 8 housings in almost every state. go apply at that office, you can find this info online or in the phone book. You alson can find HUD, if you go to the welfare office you can find this as well. really cheap housing for you and baby. you can alsoapply for this stuff online as well. as far as school, i also knowing this being a student as well, you can apply your funding and also at the school for school funding there will be an extra page to say why you need funding just write that you are a mom,and have a little one. the government funding justs asks questions and i dont believe that it gives you an extra page to write anything

To get money for college you need to fill out a FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.com

Your university may have family housing. Its a nice option because you'll be in a living environment with people who are in the same situation as you--students with kids.

many areas in the country have a special phone number:
211 that can help you with where to find services in your community.

a FAFSA is usually the first step in getting financial aid for school. but the school financial aid counselor will help you with everything.
