My friend works for a small company and her boss/owner of the company has been cheating her of her overtime hours well really he doesnt even pay her overtime and he owes her more then 20 hours of overtime since last month! Who can she talk to about the situation at hand! Also she recently resigned and now he doesnt want to give her 2 weeks pay what can she do about this guy! I know this is the wrong place to post this sort of question but where i posted it earlier i only got 2 answers. All answer would really help!! Thanks

But if she left on her own will could she still file for unemployment! She has worked there for more then 8 months.

She needs to go to the labor board. Go to the employment commission in your city. She also should have her time documented for comparison. if there were any written references at the point of hire about overtime, they may have an impact. Also if there were any performance write ups she should have them as they will have some impact. She can file for unemployment income depending on how long and how many hour she worked.

the best bet would be the unemployment office she should file for it and then she should tell them why she was fired and is refused by the owner her last pay check.. they will refer her to legal advise personnel. she is probably not the first one out of money..
