What is the big deal about Nba fights. It happens all the time in hockey and no one gets mad. There is not a breaking news story on or anything. Its not even that pressed upon in MLB. I have my own reasons why but if anybody has an opinion please do me a favor and tell me?

NBA fights are such a huge deal because most of the time the fights will progress and more people will get hurt than just 2 or 3 people in hockey. and in hockey fighting is allowed and in mlb the fights arent usually that big.

because of exactly that, they don't want the NBA to become the NHL. They want to make it a sport where you can take your kids, a fun envirorment with good competition and good sportsmanship. If you want to see a fight watch the UFC, if you want to see Hockey watch the NHL, basketball watch NBA. Noone gets mad about NHL fights because it happens all the time, but that's not what the NBA is about. they are a "clean sport" and they want to maintain a clean image.

People sit at courtside.

Also, hockey players are like six feet tall and 180 pounds - they're built like airline pilots - they can't hurt anyone. Do you know what happens if Shaq (7'2" and 320 pounds) or someone like that connects with a clean shot? Ever hear of Rudy Tomjanovich?
