My friend says putting motor oil in gas tank will ruin the engine i think a valve grinding compound will be the worst. Neither of us feel safe testing these ideas, so i was wondering if any mechanic knew the answer??

Ha! This sounds like a class b misdemeanor in the planning stages.

I say... experiment on your own car, and let us know what you find out.

ANY thing other than gas in the gas tank is BAD.....the valve grinding compound would simply clog the fuel pump strainer starving the fuel and shutting the car off before it did any internal engine damage more than likely...depends on how much motor oil...and about the most destructive thing would be sugar or syrup......putting diesel in a gas tank is also pretty costly to undo.
Best to just stick with gas in the gas tank...lol

sugar in the tank will do nothing as it was proved on the show mythbusters. if you are looking to cause problem for someone u dont like just pour raw eggs in the tank engine will run for a little bit then stop. but the answer to your question is motor oil
