How can I download a video found on the internet, mainly from sites like dailymotion.com or google video, etc.
I'd like to be able to download them to my computer, also I'd like to know how to later transfer those files and make them watchable on a DVD. Straight insert into any regular dvd player and be watchable.

If you can just right click and "save as" you can store it on your computer. You then will probably need a video format converter to make it into a windows media video file. Then you can import it into Windows Movie Maker (which is already installed on your PC) and then save it in DVD format. With movie maker you can put all the videos together into one file, but movie maker will only allow you to use .wmv files.

Well if your using firefox then there is a relatively easy way to do it. If not then either stop reading now or go get firefox.

If you search on the firefox site for plugins there is one called download helper. It allows you to easily download embedded video files. It can be used on youtube so I assume it works for google video as well. WMV files are somewhat iffy though as I have been able to download them on some sites but the plugin doesn't recognize them on others.

The only problem with the plugin is you will probably have to find a converter for certain files, or at least a player. IE: Youtube files are all .flv flash video format and can't be viewd in windows media player or other well known players.

As for DVD video, you can use Nero to create your own dvd complete with menus and I believe with certain files it will transcode them for you so you don't have to worry about. Also depending on the DVD player you should be able to burn .mpg files straight to a normal disc and be able to watch them. Some DVD players don't support this, others support it but only if the files are on a standard CD not a DVD, and then others support it if it's on a DVD, like I said-depends on the player.

if u have viewed a video clip. the clip is already in your computer, if u r now allowed to save or download it, u can find it in your temp internet folder -
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
the file name should be something like this
play?vid=00cfcaf15874d72f99f09629a9f3395a.688087
in fact any thing from the internet that u have seen on your computer are all stored here - including any porn, etc, etc ...wonderful isn't it but dangerous too ... if I am your dad, i know what u have been doing on the Net ... hahahaaa
