no it wont hurt it, my snakes have taken them butt first also, but if your snake can actually eat it sideways i think you might need to move up to small mouse or small rat whichever.

What kind of snake and how big??? This happened to me on Saturday. I fed my ball python a rat for the first time and she too, started to eat it sideways. When she realized it wouldn't fit, she played with it until she found it's head and she ate it with no problem. When she was on mice, she ate them sideways, backwards what ever way she wanted but she's almost 4' so it was no problem then.

all people takes soreness in yet differently, no possible enable you realize if snake bites are going to harm or no longer, because of the fact they are no longer you and that they do no longer experience soreness the way you extremely do. they might have an greater tolerance or a decrease tolerance to soreness it basically relies upon on the guy. whilst have been given snake bites i did no longer think of it harm, yet i've got additionally had a chest piece achieved, and not plenty is painful to me in comparison to that. The question extremely isn't if it is going to harm that's is it extremely truthfully worth the soreness for the look, and so a techniques as that's in contact you will stay with the aid of it I promise. that's no longer in effortless terms like the sensation of having it pierced in no way is going away, that's short and rapid and then over. I say choose for it you would be advantageous.

I don't think she would have continued trying to eat it that way. Sometimes snakes try to swallow their prey incorrectly but they reposition it a few minutes later and all is well.
Also, be careful about opening the cage when she's eating because you may stress her out. She might become too afraid to eat because she'll think she's vulnerable at that time.

ok...i sure hope you're not feeding your snake 'grasshoppers'...JK...
ANYWAY, if she can fit it in, it'll be fine. Chances are, if she at first tries to eat it sideways, she won't be able to fit it, and give up and try again. or just give up, and you'll have to remove the hopper, and try again a couple days later.
snakes are very good at squirming and wiggling until they make their food fit in their stomachs.

probably but it depends on what kind of snake you have because usually they should wrap around and constrict their food then once its "smashed" it gets it head first
