If not mistaken you will need one from the state you were married in to file the proper court papers for you. Most lawyers are only legal in the state they practice in. The Chancery Court office in the county you married in should be able to guide you on the proper procedure to handle this.

You need to contact a lawyer in the state you live in -- that is your residence and that is where you will file for divorce. If you no longer live in Oregon - no point getting divorced there. Getting an annulment however can be tricky as there are very specific reasons you would have to meet in order to have the court approve it. You will probably need a lawyer. Contact legal aid or your local bar association for a referral to a low cost attorney for a consulation. You may find out that you do not qualify for an annulment and then you have to proceed with a divorce.

Good luck.

laws pertaining to marriage are state issues. You should contact the County Clerk in the County in Kansas inwhich you live and ask if there are forms you can fill out and file to obtain an annulment. Normally, it is a matter of paperwork unless there is opposition. You have to let the other party know, have them served with the papers, wait a certain amount of time for them to respond, and if they don't respond, file the final decree of annulment.

If there is opposition, find an attorney.

good luck
