I thought I did fear feath until I was in a car accident at 2 am was in an Explorer as a passenger in the front seat. It hydroplaned on the interstate and hit the dividing wall. Then spun again and my door was jammed and there was an 18-wheeler headed right for my door. All of a sudden, this young man races up, jumps out of his car, tears off his shirt and stands in front of the passenger door waving his white t-shirt and this 18 wheeler just misses hitting me headon by what appeared to be just feet. He was my guardian angel. That was back in 2001. I knew I was going to be killed in just moments, yet I didn't scream, wasn't afraid, and my life didn't pass before me as I had heard it would. Instead I was just pissed off that I had quit smoking 20 years earlier and I could have enjoyed cigarettes all those years because I was going to be killed anyway. I do enjoy a smoke every once in a while now.

I'm not afraid of being dead. As a Christian I believe in the after-life and there are people I'd be happy to see there. But, I do fear the manner in which I might die. I don't want a painful death or a long agonizing death.

In a way. It's funny but I only fear it because of my children. I feel like I am their protector, teacher, and the one who is there for them emotionally. If I died, I fear for their wellbeing. I don't fear death for myself, though. I'm comfortable that it will come some day for me, hopefully it will just happen when my children are grown and can understand and deal with death in an easier way, as adults.

Like the old quote said:"I'm not afraid of dying,I just don't want to be there when it happens." I think, like a lot of people, its more the fear of the actual act of dying than death itself. I know where I'm going...I just don't want to meet a mack truck head-on to get there!!

NO. Never had. When I was young I had a near death experience. It changed me then. My only thing is that there may not be enough time for what I want to do.

I don't fear death. I only fear how death will come. I fear suffering and pain. I don't want to die from violence, or die from long drug out suffering pain.
