Well, I was going to suggest that a clogged air filter will cause a loss of MPG, but 1/4 tank in 30 miles??
Is it running OK otherwise? No smoke or odd smells from the tail pipe? I am thinking of your injectors, that one may have gone bad on you.

If you dont have any visible gas leaks, Their are a few things you can do that are probabally causing your problems. First you need to change your fuel filter filter if it hasent been changed within the past 35 to 40k. A clean air filter will make a big difference in gas mileage, as well as proper tire pressure. Low tire pressure will cause a dramatic fuel mileage loss. Check for the last time you had you had a tune up. If needed new plugs wires cap rotor, etc will give you alot better mileage also.

Could be the TPSensor is locked in on 5 volts or more making the injectors opperate full open.Could also be a diode burned out in the computor and 12 volts are running through your 5 volt system at the throttle position sensor.Vacuum leaks can also cause poor mileage( eg.a vacuum leak at the EGR valve.

i own a shop, and probably whats happening to it is its getting in need of a good tune up,since it did this gradually id say the plugs have about had all the miles they can get on them,id go through it and put new plugs and cap and air and fuel filter on it,you cant hurt it by tuning it up ,this should bring the mileage way back up on it,i do a lot of those in the shop ,those things will run till they almost drop dead, good luck i hope this helps.

check tire pressure, if you use a/c a lot lately then that affects it. Driving in stop and go traffic, accerating like a maniac, very dirty air filter, or bad gas meter< you can check this by letting your car run out of gas and having an extra container of gas to fill in to see if they meter is the problem.

Many things. Start with a tune-up. Check tiers for proper inflation. Dragging around any extra weight?

You have a high pressure fuel leak in the rail or injectors. Run it for a while in one place and see if you smell fuel
