Okay.

Piece of advice number one: RELAX. Holy gee, you just let out a long ramble of nonsense. You're feeling overwhelmed and confused and excited all at once. So take a deep breath.

Now:

1. Don't tell your two best guy friends anything. You're leaving town; why torture them with the knowledge they could have been dating you? Let it go.

2. The metal thing is fine, you'll just have to be hand-scanned and searched at the airport.

3. What are the odds that the only people you can be friends with, and the best gymnastic team in the world, are both in Hawaii, right where you lived? There will be lots of friends and team opportunities in Australia, so don't worry.

4. Don't worry about keeping your friendships. You'll be too far away to keep 'em in any form other than writing (email or letters or IM), so don't stress. Your old friends will become acquaintances, and you'll have lots of new friends to concentrate on.

I am sure your dad can tell you about the thing in your leg, that's his department, But it won't be a problem.
Just a note to each friend that you may not see this week telling them how you will miss them. It will be no problem finding a team in Australia, as long as you go to a large city, and making friends is easier there, they are very friendly folks.
Good luck
