I read this in a magazine article about 20 years ago....for some reason it stuck with me...
I believe the analogy was not only about the genre of music but about the light shows at their concerts.

I always thought of them as a sort of love child between Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull.
Yes are still going and are worth seeing live if you get the chance. As for that matter are Jethro Tull (who are exceptional live).

Pink Floyd =Progressive Rock.
Yes= Symphonic Rock.

Seeing as how the CD's cost about the same, I would have to say no. Besides, Pink Floyd has better music, in my opinion.

well, I have never heard of Yes, but I know Pink Floyd as one of the best bands ever!

no they aren't and shouldn't even be compared to Pink Floyd...I like Yes though..but very different music
