Nope, the doctor will use a very small speculum and all you have to do is keep your muscles relaxed. If you tense up then you're causing the discomfort. If you stay relaxed the most you'll feel is a little pinch here and there. It takes under 90 seconds.

Paps don't really hurt ... some people it bothers them a little... but most of the time... they don't hurt!
On a virgin it shouldn't be to bad it may hurt a little more but I doubt it. The biggest thing you will notice is the pressure on your belly from the inside, not at all an issue!
Don't be nervous! it is NO BIG DEAL and one of the best things you can do for yourself!

Ask lots of questions while the doctor is examineing you or ask them to explain what they are doing... they will be happy to do so. And you are more then welcome to contact me if you would like to !

I would have to say yes. I got a pap smear when I was a virgin for a kidney transplant and it was somewhat painful. The level of pain depends on how active your are, so if your are always hose riding or doing gymnastics i believe the pain will be tolerable.

they shouldn't, but i think the weirdness of having someone examine that area is the biggest part. it'll be strange the first time, but it is important to be checked every year once you become sexually active or reach age 18 or so. have the doctor go slowly and explain what they are doing so it won't be something you dread.

I think it depends more on the size of your cervix then being a virgin or not. Don't be nervous, they only last a few minutes.
