Probably inside of one of the casinos. Or in the heart of downtown, with the revitalization, it's actually about as safe as anywhere else.

I dont think there is a safe place unless your standing inside a police station.
Detroit hasnt been dubbed murder capital for all these years for nothing and anyone that says Detroit is safe is fooling themselves. Oh yeah, and dont expect a fast response from the Detroit police if trouble rings out.

I used to live in Detroit and found all of it to be safe. it was just a matter of mind. I love to explore the city and see every side of it. The suburbs are safe, but you do not get the feeling of detroit as it should be.

thats a relative term. The safest what? School? Neighborhood? Place to shop?
Safe compared to what?
Honestly, It's a depressed city with a downtown that's seen better days. Crime is rampant, jobs are nonexsistant, and the streets are overrun with people on hard times.

Is it the worst place to live? No I dont think so, but I've seen better too.

Probably the Campus Martius area. It's where the Hard Rock cafe is. Greektown is another safer area that has a lot of restaurant's and a casino.

any city , any place has safe AND unsafe areas
you need to be aware of your surrounding and situation wherever you go not just in Detroit

I was born, raised in Detroit,
graduated from Cody High
and proudly bought my 1st home in Warrendale area
I still live in the area and feel very safe
but then , I am aware of everything around and play it safe

there is no safe place in Detroit . The only reason why Greektown is safe is becuase police headqauters is a block away, but then so is the county jail.
