1: People will become stupider. Looking at numbers requires a lot less thinking and rationalizing skills than looking at hands on a clock. Especially if the clock specifies am or pm.

2: More energy is being used. Back-in-the-day before batteries and electricity clocks ran on either a pendulum or can be wound. These were renewable energy sources, batteries and electricity are not. Also, if the power goes out, no one knows what time it is... they'll be flashing 12:00 forever!

3: Clocks will look less snazzy. That and there will be no more 'ticking of the clock'. Nothing says time's passing like a clock ticking by. Of course, clocks will look different, but the symbolism will have less of an impact. Symbolism and clocks, especially with the positioning of the hands has a lot in subliminal contexts and in art in general. How do you think Dali's "Persistence of a Memory" would look with digital clocks? Not so neat-o.

Analog. A wall clock is a decoration except an airport or train station. I don't have a wall clock because every electronic gadget from my refrigerator to my computer has a clock. The kitchen alone has 4 appliances with clocks. The radios all have clocks. The computer and the Cable box have clocks. I even have a planter with a clock built in. The only thing I have that doesn't tell time is my toilet and I can tell what time it is by how often it flushes!

people will not learn to tell time by looking at the hands, you can just look at the #'s so that's faster, and the looks of the clock faces will be different
