I would try midol and a heating pad. If the cramps are really unbearable and happen each time you have your period you may want to think about birth control as this will help with the hormones. Extremely painful cramps is actually common for women and many women are on birthcontrol to help control the cramps.

And speak with your mom, she's probable been through the same thing and may have ways to help.

I would suggest trying a pain reliever that is specifically targeted at period pain, or one that specifies that it's good for cramps. (If you have it, or can go out and get it, I'd try for the Midol that's specifically for cramps, or perhaps a Motrin. Those always seem to work well)

Some people say that excerise helps to relieve the pain of cramps. In some cases, a heating pad or hot compress or soaking in a hot bath may work as well.

Take 3 tylenol extra strength 500mg. That'll put you at 1500 mgs and you won't feel a thing. Trust me I do it all the time. If you're scared to take 1500 mgs of tylenol then just put a heating pad on your tummy and that should soothe it. Remember NO COLD DRINKS OR FOOD. That will only make your cramps worse. Drink some hot tea, hot cocoa, or anything hot. Soups will also soothe your tummy.

Don't drink a lot of caffeine, a lot of times that makes the cramping worse. Also try taking midol and using a heating pad. If this is a consistent problem you should try birth control, it helps regulate the period and lessens the cramps.

Caffiene makes cramps worse. Ibuprofen is very helpful. So asprin. drinking lots of water all the time helps. regular exercise helps. you can also buy medicine from the drug store that is good for cramps. you should talk to your mom, she has gone through the same thing and might know a thing or two to help you.

Any type of pain reliever should work. I find that acetaminophen (tylenol) doesn't help me as much as ibuprofen does. A heating pad or a hot bath should work really well too. If nothing else works, try to just get some sleep.

When I have bad cramps I do some of these..

Take a hot bath

Put a heating pad on my stomach or warm wash rag

Working out helps it and if you work out before your period it usually helps your next one to not be as bad!
Heres the link to some work outs

Heat helps better than anything. A hot bath, or if you have a heating pad those are the best. If not you can fill an old sock with beans and microwave it then put it on your abdomen.

Edit- dry beans
