How about singing your child to sleep yourself, and leaving them to learn how to sleep through the night without noise in the background? How about interacting with your child and teaching him/her the things you want them to know, rather than propping him/her up in front of an electronic baby-sitter?
Besides, research shows that too much television before school-age can severely damage your child's ability to think, reason out problems, and learn language skills. Some studies even suggest that too much television in early childhood is the cause behind the explosion of ADD/ADHD diagnosis in our country.
Are you will to risk your child's future health and well-being over the "best" videos and CD's? It's called parenting, and they did a long time before CD players and "Baby Einstein" videos.

My daughter loved a Vivaldi CD I had for her when she was a baby. She fought sleep every time, but when I put the Vivaldi disc in, she drifted off easily.
