Socio-occupational integration and development of clinical skills are important component of transition (Kramer cited by Evans 2001). A focus group collected data among nine newly qualified child health from across central and east London. The aim of the focus group was to reveal the expectation and concerns of the newly qualified nurses. The group of the newly qualified nurses stated that interactions with experience nurses play a significant role in social and professional integration. This means Preceptors can assist the newly qualified nurses to integrate into nursing profession and manage their performance through acting as a role module and providing guidance and feed back on their performance (Evans 2001).
