3 weeks is very early and not uncommon not to see anything - I am sorry that the tech or your doctor did not explain this properly to you.
Did they mean that it has been 3 weeks 2 days since conception (ie: gestational age) or your pregnancy is 3 weeks 2 days along (ie: it has been 3 weeks 2 days since your last period)?
Why did they do a sonogram so early?
If your blood and urine tests are both positive then you are definitely pregnant, it is just very early in proceedings and you have a long way to go.
You baby would barely be a blip on the radar - just be patient.

At 3 weeks I didn't even know that I was pregnant, but since the earliest I had a sonogram done was at 8 weeks along and I couldn't really make out what I was seeing, I think that you either had a missed miscarriage or it's probably too early to see your baby, just make another ultrasound appointment later on.

I had an ultrasound at around 3 weeks for an issue unrelated to pregnancy... actually I was having my ovaries checked to see if I had cysts. Turns out I was pregnant and they never even knew. So, no, it is not a problem if they couldn't tell. The baby is so very tiny it would be next to impossible to see if it had only been 3 weeks since your period started (day 1), meaning that the baby would really only be like a week old. Relax and wait to see the heartbeat and such on the next visit. It should be easy to find by about 6 weeks or so. Best of luck to you and congratulations.

it's too early for you to see a baby @ 3 weeks, even with a transvaginal sonogram(through the vagina) so , in like maybe 5 weeks or more, you should be able to see someone in there. I did at 5 weeks and a heartbeat too :)

Definitely way too early to see much at all if anything.
Your doctor or midwife should order another sonogram in a few weeks.

I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and it was still just a little peanut.
I hope it was just early for u. Seems like at 3 weeks there could be the possibility that it was just too early. But, I am not a certified sonographer.
Good luck hun.

you will not see the baby at 3 weeks honey. the person who gave you your sonogram should have told you that! i didn't know they gave sonograms that early in the pregnancy anyway.

You will probably see the sac at that age. You will not see a heartbeat until somewhere around 5-7 weeks. At 10 weeks via ultrasound I saw my babies heartbeat and she was only the size of a peanut. 3 weeks and 3 days you would only be about 2 weeks actually pregnant as your lmp is considered week one. Your baby is very very small at this age.

The urine and blood tests may not really indicate pregnancy, but rather abnormal hormone levels.
Three wks is very early - relax, have another US in a few wks.
Good luck!
