Im a UK fan as well, and them word around Lexington is that he will be back next year but some of his staff, well they wont be returning. Mitch Barnhart is forcing tubby to make some drastic changes on his staff because of the poor recruiting and interaction with the players. Kentucky might have lost one of the best recruits in the nation to Florida. Patrick Patterson is seriously considering Florida over Kentucky and if that happens i dont know who will take Bobby Perry's spot in the lineup, besides Perry Stevenson or incoming freshman A.J. Stewart. i dont think it was a great decision by barnhart to giver tubby this other chance, but it gives him one more year and if this poor attitude abut UK basketball continues through next year you can be sure that tubby will hit the road. hes on the road again headed to minnesota!

Getting rid of Tubby Smith would be another team's dream. Why? They would get a great coach in Tubby Smith. I can't believe people want him out after making the tournament over and over and over again. I understand that Kentucky expects to win, but there were years where great coaches failed to make the tournament. Wait and see what happens now that kids have to go to the NCAA for a year. I think you would be shocked to find out how many kids will go to Kentucky.

This sounds like the idiots who want to fire Torre because the Yankees haven't won a championship despite making the playoffs every year.

The bottom line is that UK fans have astronomical expectations that no coach can consistently meet. They've been whining about Tubby since he was hired.

I hope he leaves. Maybe if IU didn't have such a good coach already he could go there and yet another UK rival could have an ex Wildcat coach.

absolutely! If kentucky got rid of him they will be hurting themselves. They could get patrick patterson if they lossed tubby a lot of recruits will choose another school. If they did get patrick patterson he is the missing piece of the puzzle. If they get him I think kentucky will improve. So to make a long story short it would hurt them in the long run. Besides, Tubby is still an amazing coach. An alternative I would do is give him 2 to 3 more seasons to see if he makes any improvements and if he doesn't I would fire him.

easily....being in the NCAA tourny is not enough these days or what? how much can u ask out of your coach, he little talent to work with, and still came out with a winning record, plus, even if tubby goes, he'll still b coaching somewhere else, and i hope he will play UK at hisother job and destroy them, im tired of all the haters

I think he's okay for next season- but I think there will be movement to bring the UMass coach, Travis Ford, in starting in 2008-09. He's an alum, a Pitino guy, and I think if Louisville continues to outshine Kentucky, they will want to go in that direction.

Yes,Tubby has one of the winningest percentages among active coaches. The director will probably ask him to visit the thought of replacing an assistant or two to please the masses.Recruiting really needs to be a focus if they want to have a better program....Give him 2 years to turn it around or he'll be gone...

For 1 more year, maybe. The national championship he won was with Patino's players. He doesn't seem to be able to recruit quite as richly as Patino did. Basketball is religion at UK, but I think they will give him 1 more year.

He should be out. It's his fault he doesn't have anybody other then Morris. Could have had Lofton, blew it Tubby.

i think that he will definatly be back because he is basically at the peak of his career, and since his team had a pretty good season this year i think that he will want to keep it going.
