For me, it has to be stories or movies. I've never been able to just look at a picture, even an "action" picture and especially not just a picture of a model, and get off from it, though I enjoy erotic pictures. I need the story to be unfolding in front of me.
Both written and visual pornography have their upsides and drawbacks. I tend to get more into visual porn while watching it- I'm completely absorbed. When I'm reading, one hand has to hold the book, I need to figure out how to turn the page (with the hand holding the book? The "other" hand? Ay-yay-yay!), and there's the whole act of just reading. Visual porn definitely leaves me just to watch with my eyes. Moreover, the "act" goes on a lot longer- constantly, really, which is perfect for masturbating. Erotica, on the other hand, has me skipping paragraphs and introductory parts to 'get to the good stuff', which generally lasts three or four paragraphs, tops, in a good piece.
At the same time, erotica leaves me more mentally satisfied than porn- I like an intelligent storyline and realistic characters who I can think about. Years later, I can still remember my favorite erotic stories. I can't say the same about the porn I've watched. I truly find erotica an artform, and it is sensual in a way that porn can never be, even at its raunchiest and the porn at its softest. Erotica fills in the blanks of porn- I can use my imagination to craft the perfect scene, whereas in porn, I have to work with the actors and the action they give me, which may not be up to par with what I want.
I guess, if I have to lay down the line, I'd prefer written erotica. But both have warm spots in my heart, and sort of different functions- I use both to get off to, but after I've had my jollies, I still like to read erotica. Can't say the same about watching porn.

I'm turned on by both images and language so I have to say I like both. If I don't have a lot of time, I will do the DVD or skin mag.
If I just want something to stimulate both heads, reading erotica is how I go. And in both cases, it would be bear porn.

I like to look at pictures, especially when they look like you, then I like to read stories and use my imagination on what is happening and how it is happening. You sometimes get better pictures in your memory. But then if you have pics you could download them and always look at them.

Well, I like both, but I've never hyperventilated while watching a movie...or ever again for that matter. Let's just say it was a very good story. I think my heart stopped too...
