You are not alone. I know a lot of people who stress about getting older. I think it is the fear of death. If that is you i should tell you... Unfortunately we all die. I wish it was not the case.
This is what you can do..
1.)
So all you can do is live a full life. Do the things you really want to do. Go hicking in the himalayas, go surfing, do the tango... whatever it is you want to do.
2.)
Try not to hurt any one, emotionaly, physically, mentally
3.)
Be happy with what you have. Dont ponder on the things you dont have.
4.) love... Love yourself, love life, love your family and if you believe ( LOVE GOD).. If you dont then search for something to really believe in... it could be you search and all you find is yourself... thats ok.
I wish you the best. Stop worrying (easy to say) do the best you can and then you wont have an ending full of regrets..
This is what i teach my children... Life is short and you never know when it will end... I have 5 children and 1 Angel who passed away as a baby. ... So i want my kids to live to their fullest potential.. which is so different for all of them.

I wouldn't say that I feel more afraid as I get older. I think that the older we become the more we are aware of the dangers of things we never considered when we were children and it was someone else's job to take care of us. Now that we are adults we are more cautious because we are our own resonsibility and if we have children we are responsible for someone else as well as ourselves. There are only so many hours in the day and because of our adult responsibilities we may feel more alone because we don't have the time to "hang out" with our friends anymore and/or we have developed different interests than our childhood friends (not to mention different responsibilities). It is all a part of normal development and like any other part of growing it is an adjustment ; but I don't believe it to be abnormal. Don't fall into the trap that I fell into and think for awhile that other people has this glorious lifestyle that you are missing out on. Believe me they don't every life style has its problems and limitations.

Yeah, I feel like I am more cautious now than when I was younger.
I think it comes from experience.
When you are young you are pretty fearless but then you learn not do do some things if they end up hurting you. As you get older you not only dont do things which have hurt you in the past but you predict the outcome of action that you havnt even tried yet.
You subconciously weigh up the risk vs the gain, and for older people there is more to risk and less to gain in many situations.
For example, for a young man it might be considered really cool to do a dangerous stunt and you would gain respect from your friends and peers. But for an older person the likelyhood of serious injury, causing loss of earnings or fitness would likely outwiegh any respect you might get from your peers (which would be less than for a young man anyway, as they would most probably think you were a bit silly for trying it in the first place!)
Thats my thoughts on it anyway......

It is clever that at 20 you sense the way you sense. existence remains so new to you. At 20 we don't probable understand how we are meant to sense or what to assume. this is all approximately existence adventure. I do appreciate which you have two decades of existence adventure. a lot of that became as a newborn. Now you will get the real deal. you're actually not dropping your existence away. you attempt to be sure what to do , the thank you to do it, the thank you to administration. undesirable issues look to now and lower back come suddenly now and lower back. this might in no way be the final time you bypass by using it however the older you get the better it gets to deal. existence gets easier and much less frightening as we age as long as we are wide awake and conscious and getting to grasp from blunders and annoying issues that happen. provide your self a harm and merely delight in being 20. Your on a path, a adventure.

I am more fearful the older I am getting. I am wondering if it is because I am not as oblivious to the world. Life is more realistic and you become fearful because each day I am but a little child inside waiting to die. Life stressors from the experiences has helped heighten my ability to know when danger is near.

Looks like it's not that you are older, but that you are feeling alone - some people don't mind being alone, and others get fearful when they are alone.

I don't feel as afraid now that I have a mate. When I was by myself I was always worried that if something should happen to me I would just lay in my home and not be found for days.

I think that the older you get to more responsibilities you have and the more you have to lose. This is why you feel fear, you are afraid to lose everything you love and have worked so hard to acquire.

Common fact. The older you get, the more your brain matures into realizing the dangers in life.
Actually, your bodly chemicals change.
