What can I do to decrease stretch marks in these areas. I'm 5 foot 7 and around 150 pounds, not too overweight. I don't understand why I aqquired these, but they make it hard to become intimate with my boyfriend and I'd love to get rid of them. I haven't had any children so I don't understand why this has happened. Has anyone any suggestions on how to decrease the look of them or remove them or does anyone know when they will fade. I'm in my mid-teens. Will tanning reduce the look of them?

Would weight loss and body toning help?

Cocoa butter helps to diminish the appearance of stretch marks.

Well, my gut response is to tell you that you shouldn't get intimate with a person until you are completely comfortable in your own skin, stretch marks and all. But, since most teens won't take that advice I can tell you that my 14 year old and I both got them in our early teens from developing quickly and that pure cocoa butter like Palmers will help make them smoother and less noticeable over time. After the age of twenty or so you can switch to a stronger cream from a doctor, but be cautious of creams that contain steriods.

Stretch marks are a form of scarring. You may have had a growth spurt and not realized it. Mederma or something similar should help a lot; that's how I got rid of the ones on my breasts. Tanning won't help because it can make scars (and therefore stretch marks) more obvious.

(Also, if your boyfriend doesn't mind, I'm not sure what you're worried about and if he does, he's a jerk.)

toning your body can help, and so does tanning. Besides that there is not much you can do about them. We can get stretch-marks from growth spurs, too, and it is something completely normal, even males get them, so i'd advise you not to be so overly self conscious and try and enjoy your body (and your intimacy with your boyfriend--he loves you, doesn't he?).

they come as a result of your body growing quickly and your skin not having enough time to adjust. Over time they fade and are less noticeable, but they will never go away unfortunately...anyone can get them...even my ex husband had them over his butt and top of his thighs as he went through a growth spurt in his teenage years.
If your boyfriend doesn't like them tell him to get lost, and you will need to not worry about them so much or you will be paranoid forever...
So many people have them, so don't stress too much

I used to have lines on my breasts when they were growing but they went away a few years before i finished growing.
