Okay, I hadn't heard anything about this, but when I watched this Sunday's (March 18) episode of Rome, on the previews is said next week was the "Series Finale". Did it really mean SEASON finale or is it done after this season?!? I really like this show!!! Does anyone know?

Okay, adding to the question, they would have a LOT of historical ground to cover in 1 episode to finish the series. Also, one of the responses mentioned that the BBC was pulling out because the 1st season cost $100 million... this is correct that it cost that much, but that debate was over whether they were going to renew it for a 2nd season, which they obviously did. This is not something applying to after the 2nd season.

Slacker, where are you getting your information from?

Just found it on imdb.com. Couldn't find it on HBO. Thanks. This sucks. Really liked that show. Of course I was mad when they cancelled Six Feet Under and Sex and the City as well.

Yeah, I noticed that the kids seemed to grow up AWFULLY fast. Do you think that Vorenus and Pullo will end up killing each other?

Its not being canceled, its ending. The Italian broadcasting company RIA and The BBC are pulling out of production. They both agreed to a two year series with HBO. The reason is the first season took over 100 million dollars to create.

I have no idea what you mean with the details section. The series is done, some of the actors have already started on other projects.

Oh and another thing, they skipped quite a few years in Rome, some of the children are 6-7 years older. They had a lot of historical content to work with but they are skipping parts.

I knew it was a two season show but I was shocked when I saw that series finale thing. I was not happy about it; it was like "Oh no, the end is upon us"

I love that show!

I love the show as well, You're right about the series finale, but I believe that it will come back eventually, over a couple of years.

I have heard it only a 2 season show.

It is probably over because Antony will be killed and I think Verenus and Pulo have to fight each other to the death. If they die the show ends.
