(1) Chemistry- The focal point is Phil, O'Neal, and Bryant, but the book also explains the other team members' roles and attitudes.
(2) Confidence- Bryant and O'Neal both have a swagger that makes them great.
(3) Arrogance- Bryant and O'Neal both have a distorted perception that weakens their respective characters (I believe both have changed since the book was written).
(4) Frustration- the note about Phil being so upset to a loss to Detroit in late January/early February is ironic since Detroit eventually beat out the Lakers for the championship.
(5) Talent- quite possibly the best duo the league has ever know is described well by Phil.
