--In the snatch quickness & timing is the hard combination. It would help if you gain the finesse by working with a weight that is easy for you to handle. As you develope the strength you will be able to handle the heavier weights.

--As a Still Ring champion in college in 1964, some of the best training was to break up the moves individually and perfect them as separate actions & then put them together with smoothness.
--Although in weight lifting there are not more than a couple of moves. --Ask your coach what he thinks?

--With the clean and jerk, there is less timing to worry about , but still needed , try not to move once you cleaned the weight.

--The jerk is where a major explosion through out your body is needed. When you get the mechanics down pat again working with a lighter weight, the greater weight finesse will come as you develope the strength.

In both lifts, the mechanics must be there , master them and you could be on your way, to greater lifts.

--Its good to watch people who are champs etc. but you need to develope your own style, that is when you will feel comfortable and confident --because all our bodies are different so if you try to copy someone too much, it could be self-defeating.

--Don't let yourself get frustrated , you have to be patient with your body mechanics and not loose concentration.
