If you get a subpoena to appear in court as a witness in a battery case, do you have to go? The person that got arrested pushed me, but I didn't press charges. It's kinda a bs deal and I don't want them to get punished for anything this stupid. Do I have to go?

I got subpoenaed to go in front of a grand juror once because I wouldent talk to the cops. So yes you do half to go, and you cant really lie straight out because they can charge you with pergury but what you can do is say sorry I was on drugs at the time and I dont recall anything. And legally they cant use your statement anymore. Good luck

If you recieve a subpoena, then you must go.

If you do not go, you can be cited for contempt and punished.
