2001: A Space Odyssey would have to be my choice---an older movie, yes, but a beautiful, still-thought-provoking, journey into the unknown. It also still comes the closest to picturing what actual commercial space travel will be like, as well as an exploratory spaceflight mission. The year 2001 has come and gone, but the possibilities in this movie are still waiting.

THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL is still top notch. I've heard a rumor there are intentions of remaking this classic. I hope the rumors are wrong. It would be a big mistake.
