My boyfriend never takes me anywhere nice to eat. It's always fast food. That's okay if you're on the run, but I wish he would take me out some place fancy. Why do guys do that? Are they just that cheap or what?

Is he poor? Maybe his priorities are somewhere else. I dated a guy who was stone broke and had self esteem issues. He asked me out to breakfast and didn't tell me where we were going until we were on our way to Micky D's (McDonalds). Blech. I wouldn't have minded paying for a nice meal if he had told me he was broke.
If you are just starting to date, try to learn more about his lifestyle. Maybe he is wanting to treat you more often and figures fast food is cheaper. But it might be easier to save up and go out less often to a nice place. Afterall, fast food isn't as cheap as it sounds. You could do better with that much money.
If you have been together for a while, then just ask him straight up.

He could be cheap - pay attention to the other things he does for you... does he get you flowers, buy you nice presents, and usually pay for all your stuff when you guys go out? If so, he probably just doesn't value the "fancy place" experience as much as you. Try telling him that you want to get dressed up and wear a sexy dress, but you have no where to wear it... this will give him incentive to take you somewhere nice.

Some guys are cheap as heck. Why don't you take him out somewhere that you really want to go? Then tell him tactfully, that the next time is on him, and you want to come back here then. Or name where else you want to go. Or just talk to him about your feelings, and hopefully he will get the hint.

Maybe he just doesn't know any better. My husband was like that when we were dating. Finally when we went on vacation, I made dinner reservations somewhere nice. He loved it and now we go places like that all the time. Many men stick with what they know and if they weren't raised around the finer dining atmospheres, they won't experiment for fear of embarrassment.

here's an idea. make a reservation to a spot you would like to go, then just tell him you're going ... reservations are made. men aren't very good, in general, and planning "nights out." you gotta just take the initiative and do it yourself. sorry.

may i suggest Boa in Caesar's? yummy! (since you have your ??? under Las Vegas)
