Are you sure you've synced them to your nano? Otherwise click on "Settings" select "Main Menu" then scroll down to Podcasts and click on it, it should say "On" now otherwise click again. Then click your menu button until you get back to your main page and Podcasts should be an option.

i'm guessing that the podcasts are not on your main menu. go to settings and find the main menu settings there. to access your podcasts easily, put the podcast option on the main menu.

They should be on your Music ---> Podcasts menu.
