Population Density = population/area
It's the measurement of how densed a particular area is.
Most densed are the highly urbanized cities (Tokyo, etc.) and lowest density are the barren areas (Antartica,Sahara).

What is population density? What causes certain areas to become highly densed? Which areas have the highest and lowest population density?

how many people there are in 1 square kilometer. Factors affecting population density are; how fertile the soil is, resources and facilities, sanitary conditions (how clean the country is). The most densely populated areas are big cities and towns, because they are easily accesed and thrive with people e.g London has a population of 7 million people, which is over 10% of the population of Britain which is 60 million. Scotland is sparsely populated. The population density of London is great because many people live in flats, which means many people live on the same bit of land.

Population density is when you take the population of a country and divide it by the number of square miles [or any unit] in the country. Large, barren countries have low population densities, such as Mongolia. Small, urban countries have highest population densities, like Singapore.

The relative number of people living or working in a a place. In size, of course, cities, towns, villages, open country, have very different population differences as you know. In high number areas , the people are there because what they want from life is there. Jobs, pubs, clubs, cinemas, doctors and so on.

The measurement of how dense so many people have become.
Seriously .... it's the measurement of how many people are packed into a specific area.
The cause? Cities growing and people moving in to them.
