Why don't they use their brains and cover up what should be covered?

"You and the rest of the chauvinist are the ones the make it clear what you feel women are value for and yet you have the nerve to post something like this."

Please use the term chauvinist correctly; it refers only to one that has feelings of extreme patriotism. If you have to say something demeaning, PLEASE just use misogynist. I HATE seeing a word like that butchered. If you advocate using chauvinist that way, you have no say in the way the word "feminist" is portrayed today.

Furthermore, I see a lot of hatred toward the poster on this topic. Nowhere did he imply that rape was justified; his question concerns ONLY objectification. If you don't want to receive (sexual) comments about your body, isn't it wise to cover it up? I'm not saying you need to necessarily wear dresses (even shorts are fine; people usually don't comment on that), but for God's sake, showing cleavage is BOUND to at least put thoughts in an observer's head. Most guys won't say anything about it, but a few people will. I have never in my life seen a woman being "objectified" because of her clothing anyways. From what I can tell, males are almost always aware that the person they are looking at is a PERSON.

Who decides what should be covered?

Where I live (Ontario, Canada) it's legal for women to walk around topless. That rarely happens, but it's legal. And men walk around topless, of course. So that's fine and acceptable to show breasts. Below the belt is required to be covered for both genders, but I've never seen a woman showing butt crack and bush in everyday public. To me, that would be unacceptable.

So what exactly defines "dressing like whores"? And how often do you see this?

They are not the smart ones, are they?
The principle, I think, is to teach men to change their behavior toward women. Women want to be viewed as human beings, not toys for male pleasure. A woman should not be subjected to catcalls, lewd staring or uninvited touching, no matter what she is wearing.

I know men are easliy aroused by what they see, but it is their personal responsibility to behave appropriately if they get turned on in a public place.

Personal responsibility...everyone should practice it.

Because they want you to know that they are a person behind that beautiful body, and they don't want you to just admire their figure, but also admire them for their personality, mind, ambition and so on. If they want to walk around showing their body, we should try to appreciate the physical beauty, and the beauty behind looks, and so not treat them like some 2D object, but the person as a whole.

Excellent point. They believe they should have the right to wear what they want. Guys can look but they can't touch. That is a complete load of bull****! That is also why the rape rate is so high. Modesty seems to be a thing of the past and I for one would love to see it return. I'm not talking about wearing long skirts and turtle necks everyday but you shouldn't leave little to the imagination either.

The first questoin is correct. Girls want to look like whores and b i t c h when they get looks. The second is stupid. If a girl is hot she should be able to walk around naked. This should be determined by a panel of straight male judges.

Please give me the definition of what you think is a, "whore"? You and the rest of the chauvinist are the ones the make it clear what you feel women are value for and yet you have the nerve to post something like this. My answer to you question is that women should be able to wear anything that they want. It is their choice. Women are raped and victimized by men because of the power inbalance not because of sex.

Not a very tactful way of putting it, but an apt question.
___Feminists have no qualms about research that associates testosterone levels with incidence of violence, or with condemning men for their crimes of passion, but who is going to look into the phenomenological aspects of these matters? Men's internal experience of feelings and passions is explosive and brutalizing--to the men themselves. Why else do men avoid their feelings? Why, when there was an authentic patriarchy, was the emphasis of mental health placed on not letting one's passions control him, instead of today's feminized focus on "getting in touch with your feelings"?
___Most real women know intuitively that men are more vulnerable to passions and lust than women are, and that they can manipulate men emotionally and sexually a lot more effectively than the other way round. Women who dress provocatively play with this male vulnerability, in a rough equivalent of the way some Italian men slap provocatively-dressed women's butts as a matter of course. There's a kind of moral symmetry there: "you toy with my passion vulnerability, and I'll toy with your physicality vulnerability," But this is blasphemy in the U.S.
___Men commit suicide 4-5 times more frequently than women, often over women. When will emotional manipulation be treated as the crime it is? Civilized men don't beat on women, but plenty of civilized women routinely manipulate men, and frequently destroy them.
___Women's provocative dress today seems at times to be an in-your-face gloating that began when it was rightly determined that provocative dress doesn't justify rape. Well it doesn't justify rape, and no man should lower himself that way. It might justify some ogling, though.
___But in fairness, many of the most provocative dressers are insecure women who resort to dressing like that to attract men, and aren't feminists, and don't deserve ogling. There are different populations of women out there, and the hateful ones don't usually don't let themselves be vulnerable.
___So let it go, toughen up, and restrain yourself, even if it is harder than it is for women. In America's moral community, a man has to be twice as good as a woman to get recognition for it. Be kind to the innocent women, and try to persuade your friends not to marry feminists. Maybe they can just be bred out of existence by their low birth-rates.

can you walk around topless without someone thinking you are a sex worker? yes? then shut up. use your brain to keep your penis and your drooling under control. it isn't the woman's responsibility to keep men from being rapists, or just plain old creeps. its men's responsibility to keep their opinions, hands and genitalia to themselves. the idea you're putting out here is the same one used to justify women being beaten in Iran because they showed too much of their ankle, or dared to leave the house with lip gloss on.

Ouch! Well, we wanna feel sexy but not be treated like an object. Can't we be sexy and a person too? I mean you can appreciate what you see without making us feel like we're not human right?
