Fish living in Salt water must take in water by drinking from the environment. They also must excrete a very concentrated urine, releasing as little water as possible. Fresh water fish have the opposite problem. They excrete large amounts of very dilute urine, and take in very little water by drinking. Explain this in terms of osmosis, and a consideration of which fish is hypertonic & which is hypotonic relative to its environment.
