I was wandering how do I get the conversation going to tell my parents that I am bi. I don't know what their beliefs are on the subject but I don't think that they have a negative opinion about it because there are gay people on the amazing race and they don't say any thing about it. Plus it is different when it is your own child. I am only 14 years old and you are probably thinking that “ohhh I am to young to know what my sexuality is” but you are wrong I don’t know. Although I haven’t done any thing I have had feeling for my one of my best friends(like I would date her) and stuff… she let me how to get the conversation started with my parents… any help is good.

Why do you think that you owe it to anyone to tell them your secrets and your personal life ? It is true that you are very young but at least you have a mind of your own. Give it a chance and keep it your secret for a while. Good luck.

there is no real way or best time to tell them. they will have to digest it all the same. just say it to them, although them not talking about gay people might be a way of them telling you that they already kind-of know that you are or might be. they are giving you the power to tell them whenever you are ready. I totlally believe that even though you are 14 you know your sexual identity. if though you have a best friend that you like you might be getting mixed feelings. you might just love them so much but just as a friend. when i was still confused i thought i like my best friend who was a girl, but i later found out that they were just strong feelings of friendship. the point is that you know who you are, and everyone has to execept it.

The easiest way to do it is to be honest and straight forward.

I will pray for you and the choice you seem to be in the process of making.

I will also say that....yes you are only 14...so I would give yourself a few more years to see if this is what you think it is.

You just maybe going to some phase and I also suggest that you take what the Bible says regarding this subject matter seriously and pray about it. Satan attacks and he attacks hard. He will do everything in his power to trick you into thinking you are something that you are not.

God bless you....Matt

I think its a bit too early to be complicating yourself with what your parents could think... I decided to tell them only after I had my first relationship, when I knew for sure I wasn't mistaking my feelings towards girls... It could turn to hell... be careful.

On the other hand, if you trust them enough to tell them now, then go right ahead!

good luck!

At 14, you generally do have a sense of who you are.

You can test the waters by telling them you have a friend who is bi, and see how they react.
