One quarter of any wick is 15 seconds . fold in half then again .burn wick 15 seconds . Have you herd this one? 3 hunters go hunting and decide to stay at the local motel. the clerk See's them coming and decides to charge them 30 dollars for a 25 dollar room. Each hunter gives the clerk 10 dollars. After a while the clerk feels guilty and tells his son to return 5 dollars to the men and tell them they were over charged. The son thinks 5 dollars and 3 hunters . He gives each of the hunters 1 dollar back and keeps the other 2. If you have followed the story so far the hunters each paid 10 dollars then got 1 dollar back from the kid. witch is 9 dollars each for the room. the kid kept 2 dollars 9 X 3 = 27 plus 2 = 29.

Take out two wicks. Light one on one end, the other on both ends. The double-lit wick will burn out in 1/2 the time, so when it goes out, you know the first wick has 30 seconds of burn left. Immediately light the other end of the first wick and the clock has been started -- when the second wick goes out, 15 seconds will have elapsed.
