Offer the players a huge pile of money to play then maybe we will get there.
It seems that since money has become more dominant in the game, the national team has suffered. I put this down to lack of passion.
Players say it´s great to be picked for your country, and i don´t doubt it for a minute. What i doubt is the reason behind it. To most i feel it´s just something they can add to their CV. Bring back real passion for playing for the nation, then we´ll bring back better football.
Take a look at the last world cup, all were complaining that their bad performance was down to the heat. Rubbish! they just weren´t good enough. If the heat was the case we might just as well save money and not enter for the next one cause it´s not going to be any cooler.
The problem with the England side is that too many want to be stars individually and not as a team. The side needs diversity and not a reliance on the same old players. We need to change our approach to the way we play. We will never obtain success until we learn that the English style of football, whilst fine in England, doesn´t work too well abroad.
The closest we have come to changing our approach was whilst under Venables, and we need the same now.

They not only have a very good chance of qualifying they have the talent, ability, confidence, quality and strength to win the whole tournament. Unfortunately the team needs more time together and they need to be fit. On top of that they all need to play well at the same time, and as well as all that they have the expectation of a nation as further pressure.

We will get through the qualifiers I realy do think we are just suffering a lack of confidence we need some hungry new blood in the team to get the starting players worrying about there place i think it is good that Dave Nugent has been called up. We just need to get behind the team we all know we can do it if we are honist

i Love England i Love the queen, i think they are capable, but the fans need to stay put and let the professional do their job, the way the press and fan talk about their team when they lose is just terrible, give one English fan a soccer ball to tip, they can't even tip for 10 minis am not talking about playing for 90 minis.i mean i for on went the best for England but the Media and fans went these player and coaches to work wonders just because the epl is the Best in the world,it takes time to make winners and i mean time.

In Scotland we always believe we will qualify even when its mathematically imposible. You need a coach and manager set up with a bit more life about them. You need and Ali to rouse the crowd and get everyone in the country behind the team.

What talent are you talking about? The midfield is their best feature. The best forwards aren't even on the team. Where is Darren Bent? He's the best forward in England. Why the hell is Wright-Phillips there? Shrek is always out there. Sure, he hustles, I'll admit that, but his scoring record is atrocious.

It's a good team and if they play well I think there's a more than 50% chance of the quarter finals and I'd say about a 1 in 10 chance of winning outright.

England WILL qualify, for Euro 2008, - but, it will NOT be because of that "INEPT NUMPTY" who's in CHARGE! McClaren MAY have been a "FAIR" CLUB Manager, - he was ONLY, at MIDDLESBROUGH, for Heaven's SAKE, - but, there's a WORLD of difference, between managing a CLUB side, - and, managing a NATIONAL side! Like MANY loyal Englishmen, - I suspect, - I am of the opinion, that he should STEP ASIDE, - SOON, - in favour of someone who KNOWS what he's DOING! Please, Mr. M., - do the "DECENT" thing, - and, GO!
