Typically for a main sequence star, we are looking at relatively low mass stars.
Our sun will become a red giant in a few billion years. The internal hydrogen at the core of the start will be used up, then gravity will force the inner core to fuse helium instead. As a side effect, the outer shell of hydrogen will expand, forming a red giant.

If I remember correctly Red Giants are stars at the END of their lifetime so they would have been white dwarfs b4 becoming red giants not the other way around.

Stars that had solar masses less than 1.4 solar masses. Any star not massive enough to become a nuetron star will become a white dwarf. The spectral type is irrelevant.

they're too warm. In a sturdy huge call 2 forces are performing in opposite guidelines. Gravity is attempting to tug the huge call at the same time and the kinetic capability modern-day in each and each atom (the warmth) is pushing the huge call aside. those forces stability one yet another out - if a super call expands it cools down and for this reason there is far less warmth pushing the huge call aside, and so it collapses slightly. If it shrinks then the temperature rises, and the extra warmth pushes the huge call decrease back to its unique length.
