I have tried the Gurney's website and they were very helpful but you may find that your local home and gardening center could help you also. I have looked on the back of my seed packets and that showed the zones of when to plant seeds at proper time.

I would look at the website for the agricultural university in the state where you live. They will have a "calendar" that tells you when to plant, fertilize and what varieties are best suited for your area. Also, go to a local nursery or hardware store that sells seeds or bedding plants. - they will have popular varieites and can help you. I know here in eastern North Carolina, we plant tomato plants, cucmber, squash, watermelon, canteloupe, etc. AFTER April 5th, which is our last average frost. Lettuce, collards, cabbage and such can be planted earlier. Good Luck and I hope you get to eat alot of fresh vegetables from your garden.
