I have been in denial my whole life about being a transsexual. Lately I have felt closer to women than I ever have before. I always want to be treated like a woman in everyway. Having a door opened for me and held and adored by a man. Even finding clothes cute and feminine and sorry I missed out on everything a young girl experiences in life with her youth. Proms, bacholoreete parties, etc. These feelings have been constant and hard to dismiss, Anybody else have these feelings? Any post op women married or in relationships ? Thanks, Robyn

I am pre-op so I don't know, but from what I have heard post-op feels much better, although it could have much to do with the psychological effect of no longer having male genitalia. I know how you feel about missing out on childhood events, but all you can do is try to be happy in the here and now. I am transitioning rather young so I havn't missed out on too much, but I can imagine that it must be very difficult to feel that a large part of your life happened wrong, and I hope that you are able to get past it.

Emotionally, i guess so, but sexually is all about finding the right partner to push the right buttons. I am pre-op so dont know yet. I do have some regrets about my past, i knew what i wanted when i was 10, maybe earlier, so starting it at 19 really did seem like a waste of my teenage years.

Robyn, I've had those feelings most of my adult life. Finally gathered courage to do something about it several years ago and am a happier, better adjusted person because of it. When I first started transition it felt like I was going through a second puberty.

Is there a support group in your area you could go to?
