Have tried to call Earthlink. On hold for 17 mins before I gave up. Tried to email AT&T/Yahoo - no good, won't let you get anywhere without a landline phone number which I don't have. Verizon is similar. Am moving to a new address in California/Orange County and it is impossible to contact any of the three without having a) landline phone number or b) already living at an address, or both. Don't have time to call and be on hold forever, either. I don't need a phone landline and I don't watch TV.

In almost all areas In order to get DSL you have to have a landline phone number installed.

On the other hand you do not need to subscibe to cable tv to get cable internet. Try Comcast, I believe they are in Orange County.
