If you want a career, then you have to marry someone that is compatible with that. That is something that should be discussed before marriage. If it happens during the marriage, talk about it together. It all has to be a mutual decision.

A times yes BUT sometimes no... It depends on what her career is. If the husband is willing to stay at home and take lesser jobs and careers then the woman can maintain her career if she wants to. It all depends on the marriage and the people in the marriage. However being a man or a woman when you marry your marriage and family should come above your career and work if you ask me. You have to learn to keep your priorities straight and things will fall into place as long as we do this and learn how to balance our lives and keep things on an even keel. Do not marry if your career or job will be more important than marriage or a family.

NO WAY! If you are success full as a human being, you'll be success full as a married individual. Of course, there are precautions you must take: Waiting for the right time to have children, financial planning for the family, mutual respect for each other...well, the list goes on and on. But I think you'll find the answers..

You have to make choices in life: being a wife and mother for your family, or working on your own career for yourself.
If you pick the career, great. But if you need to make your family second to your job, why get married or have a family if daycare is your substitute parent?

Why would it? If your partner is happy you have a career why would it interfear? Now if you have children, you will be off for maturnity leave but that does not affect your job you can go back. Its so much more demanding when you go back to work though. You have to pay day care and you have to realise that sometimes its cheaper to raise the kids but may be better off going back to work. Take care Heather

No...but having kids does...ecspecially if you decide to be a responsible parent and stay home to take care of them instead of dropping them of at some day car center full of freaks. You just have to decide what is more important in your life. Family and spending time with kids and building lasting relationships, or working long hours making money.

Not always.
It can if your spouse dosent "allow" you to work, in which case you married the wrong guy. You career can also come to an end if you decide to have kids and raise them, but thats a much more important job anyway.

why would marriage destroy a career? I cant see why it would.
If you have time to be in a serious relationship and have had the same career, what would change
