I know this is not pet related..however it is animal and pets are animals....
i just thought i was wrong to kill a cub...mother refuesed or not they are endangered and need a captive breeding group if all the wild polar bears die off they could be gone forever....some animal activist are crazy.

It seems to me like it's a case of someone taking a truth about nature to an unnecessary extreme. Yes, the abandoned cub would have died in the wild, but it's not in the wild. It's in a zoo and why should they just let the cub die and for goodness sake, why take it's life now just because it would have happened in the wild? Would they kill an injured or sick animal because it would probably be killed by a predator if it was in the wild. No. They'd take care of it.

dude I'm w/ ya 100% cuz I'm in love w/ polar bears. and arn't the activists the ones saying that humans are killing all the endangered spices. So doesn't that make the hypocrites. I mean why should they kill the polar bear even though it is being raised by a caring person.

The zoo had no intention of releasing the animal into the wild, so there is no issue here, it should live fine in the zoo.

that's so wrong to kill him! he looks happy to me, and they said he's developing normally. im not 100% in agreement with zoos, but the reason their there is so animals who can't live in the wild can live.
save the polar bear!!

we need land designated for them like we have for other species in the wild. i think what the care takers at the zoo did was right. i don't know how anyone can let a helpless baby of any species die.

i agree.....he lives in a zoo and that is where the problem starts....we have taken so much land that animals don't have all they need......if we can do something to help them out we should.....it is wrong to kill it....especially if his mom rejected him and he lives in a zoo.......
