If you walk into a house if you thought i was messy or clean or whatever would you think the woman in the house cleans it or the man in the house? My dad and mom have been argueing about it for a LONG time!

Generally speaking - most folks would "blame" the woman if it were messy, and give credit to her if it were clean.

Just the way it is ...
If the lawn were in disrepair it would be seen (generally, of course) as your dad's fault.

Stereotypes are alive and well!

Some men can be a lousy housekeeper as well as a women
I would think that the wife would be the more messy one , especially if the father was working and she was home all day .

I never had that problem , I"m clean , I like a clean home

I suppose if it was messy I would think NO ONE cleaned it - but it would depend on the people before I would be able to answer this. If it were my son's house - I would say the man. If it were my daughter's house - the woman (or, more truthfully, probably no one). My son is a neat freak - as is his son (who is only 7). I think they are congenital anomalies!

I have never heard of the man getting the blame for the dirty house, even if he lives alone! People say, "Oh he's a typical man, they don't know how to clean" Or "He needs a woman in his life" Then she can get the blame for the dirty house.

If I walked into someones house and it was dirty I would think nobody was cleaning it. So your mom and dad are both guilty.

The woman would be the one that looks bad. Not fair but true.

I would not make any assumptions in that situation -- there are too many variables. Unless only one person lived there, in which case it would be kind of obvious.

I would'nt think either. It was the cleaner. But if the house was messy they would'nt be our cleaner for long.
